What is the Reece bathroom innovation award?

The Reece bathroom innovation award is a design award established to encourage original and outstanding bathroom product design.
The award is an opportunity for new and established Australian designers and architects to explore the boundaries of innovation and expression in the form of beautiful and functional bathroom products.

The award aims to showcase creativity and recognise and reward design excellence.

The Reece bathroom innovation award is open to design professionals as well as design students with separate cash prizes awarded in each category.

Who can enter?

To be eligible to enter the award you must be:

• an architect, interior architect, industrial designer, interior designer or other design professional who is a permanent resident of Australia; or
• a student in an architecture, industrial design or other design discipline currently enrolled in an Australian university or institution, who is a permanent resident of Australia or the holder of a student visa permitting temporary residence in Australia valid until 15 December 2008 or beyond.

I am studying part time, can I still enter?

Yes, provided you are a student in architecture, industrial design or other design course and either a permanent resident of Australia or the holder of a student visa permitting temporary residence in Australia valid until 15 December 2008 or beyond.

I am an overseas student studying in Australia, can I enter?

Yes, provided you are a holder of a student visa permitting temporary residence in Australia valid until 15 December 2008.

What if the product I have designed has already been manufactured, can I enter?

No, the Reece bathroom innovation award is for the design of new and original product.

What is the deadline for submissions?

All submissions must be received by 7 November 2008.

Where should I send my submissions?

All entries are to be posted to: The Reece Bathroom Innovation Award, Private Bag 109, Burwood, Victoria, 3125

How should I present my submission?

All submissions must comprise a complete set of drawings including 2D and 3D modelling. They must be submitted in hard copy and on disc in high resolution PDF format. Each entry must be submitted with a brief, typed design statement of no more than 500 words. Each submission must be clearly identified with the entrant's identification code. Each page of your drawings, the CD and your design statement must be identified with your entry identification number only. To ensure anonymity, your name or any other identifying reference (eg. logos, symbols or name of practice) should not appear on the submission.

Can I email or fax my submission?

No. Submissions must be sent to The Reece Bathroom Innovation Award, Private Bag 109, Burwood, Victoria, 3125.

Can I hand deliver or courier my submission?

Yes. Submissions must be sent to The Reece Bathroom Innovation Award, 118 Burwood Highway, Burwood, Victoria, 3125.

Will my submission be returned to me?

No. Submissions will not be returned. You should keep a copy of your submission for your records.

Will I be notified of receipt of my submission?

Applicants will be notified of the receipt of their submissions via email. Registration requires a valid email address.

Why do I have to register to print an entry form?

You need to register your details before printing an entry form so that we can contact you about the Reece bathroom innovation award. Your contact details will be kept confidential and will only be used in relation to the Reece bathroom innovation award.

I've already registered but lost my entry form. How do I print out a new one?

Click on Print Entry Form and enter the entry identification code that you received when you registered into the form. Your entry form will then be available to print. If you have lost your entry code, you can retrieve it by entering the email address you registered with in the lost your code form.

I've deleted my confirmation email, what should I do?

Just enter the email address you registered with into the Lost Your Code form, and we'll send your entry identification code again.

Am I responsible for any taxes incurred as a result of winning the Reece bathroom innovation award?

Tax implications may arise from the prize winnings. Independent advice should be sought.
